MÔR Cleaning was founded by Kirsty, who began the business by carrying out the cleaning work herself. From the very beginning, the focus was on doing the job properly and building something rooted in consistency, care, and accountability.
Coming from a family background within a large Welsh retail chain, she was introduced early to the discipline, responsibility, and hard work required to run and grow a business. That grounding shaped the standards that still define MÔR today.
As the business developed, so did its reputation for raising expectations within the industry. This commitment to better standards and a more responsible approach has also been recognised externally, including awards such as Welsh Business Woman of the Year and Sustainable Business of the Year—reflecting a wider dedication to community, sustainability, and doing business the right way.
The Name, and What It Became
MÔR is the Welsh word for sea, reflecting our Welsh heritage and connection to the South Wales coast and Barry.
Over time, it has also come to represent something greater—more management, more accountability, more reporting, and more value delivered to clients. It has evolved into a principle that underpins how we operate across every site.

To strengthen our commercial development, we have appointed Rayner Mayers as Non-Executive Director. Rayner has built and scaled a multi-million-pound commercial cleaning company from the ground up, bringing a rare depth of hands-on industry experience. Her expertise is invaluable across all sectors MÔR Cleaning works in, adding strategic insight and operational strength to the leadership team.
Rayner shares the same passion for high standards and ethical service delivery that sits at the core of MÔR. Her experience, combined with our existing values and operational focus, strengthens our ability to deliver consistently across all sites and continue improving standards within the industry.
Alongside leadership, we continue to invest in training, support, and development for our teams, ensuring pride, consistency, and quality in every environment we manage. Strong relationships with our staff remain central to this approach—because when people feel valued, standards naturally follow.
Where appropriate, we also prioritise environmentally responsible cleaning products, protecting both staff wellbeing and client environments without compromising performance.
Proudly Serving South Wales
We’re based in Barry and we work across South Wales. Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Port Talbot, Merthyr Tydfil, Treforest, Pencoed, and the wider Rhondda Cynon Taf area cover most of it. Sometimes a bit further out for the right job.
The buildings we look after sit across a handful of sectors. Medical and healthcare settings, where hygiene standards are higher and there’s no margin for being casual about them. Manufacturing and production sites, where the environment is tough and we plan around shift patterns. Car showrooms, where first impressions sell the stock. Retail spaces and offices, where cleaning has to fit around the working day.
We handle the wider building services too, washrooms, windows, carpets and floors, janitorial supply, and pest control, so one team and one point of contact covers everything. That part isn’t really part of the “about us” story, but it’s worth knowing if you’re reading this for the first time.
A Short Answer to "Why MÔR?"
We’re not the biggest cleaning company in South Wales, and we don’t try to be. We are the one that puts the work in to give clients more than they expect, and that treats its staff well enough that the work stays good. That’s what we’ve built over eight years. It’s what we plan to keep building.
